Oceans Design fabricates portable, compact tank systems that are perfect for educational institutions with a goal to educate students in the field of aquaculture. These systems include all components typically found on larger commercial systems which allows students to learn about the complete filtration process. The filtration package includes a biofilter, solids removal device, degassing tower, foam fractionator, UV sterilization, and a chiller or heat pump.

These systems have 2" insulated ABS tanks with acrylic windows that can either be rack mounted on powder coated 304 Stainless Steel mobile racks or installed on lab benches with the filtration tucked away.

Typically found in aquariums, zoos, and other educational institutions, touch tanks give visitors a hands-on learning experience and help to promote awareness and appreciation for aquatic life. The animals in touch tanks can include a variety of species such as starfish crabs, sea cucumbers, and sometimes even small sharks or rays. Skid mounted recirculating aquaculture systems (RAS) provide complete filtration in a compact and moveable package. This concept is ideal for commercial and research applications where culture or experimental tanks are not in continuous use or space is limited to allow for multiple independent filtration systems. Through our unique Concept to Fabrication process, we work with the clients to custom design the turnkey RAS, fabricate and test prior to shipping, and deliver on site ready to be installed. Because each customer's requirements and needs differ, the layout and components used in each skid system are unique. System components may include bead filters, UV Sterilizers, degassing columns, cartridge filters, water chillers and/or heaters, pumps, aerators, moving beds, inline heaters and touch screen control boxes.
