Custom Molded Fiberglass Tanks
Our sister company Gemini Fiberglass has built a reputation over the years as a company providing a full range of one-piece and sectional fiberglass tanks with the highest quality craftsmanship available in the industry. Every Gemini Fiberglass starts as a 3D model designed and built to the exact dimensions and specifications. The model is turned into a heavy-duty mold allowing you to replicate the tank over and over with precision. Tanks are reinforced to minimize wall deflection and finished with a polished smooth gel coat interior.
Insulated ABS Tanks
Oceans Design fabricates a variety of tanks in different materials and shapes. Our ABS tanks are available in rectangle and square configurations. We offer a robust tank design with dual insulated foam walls, making them the ideal material for research systems, touch tanks, and display aquariums. The ABS tanks are constructed using 1 or 2-inch foam, which provides structural integrity and insulation when operating at temperatures well above or below ambient temperatures. Our ABS tanks are lightweight, durable, and constructed of nontoxic materials, making them perfect for research systems.
PVC Tanks
Oceans Design fabricates PVC tanks from 3/8" and 1/2" Type 1 PVC sheets in our plastics shop. Economical, versatile, adaptable PVC tanks are suited for a wide array of sizes and applications. Tank joints are welded and double reinforced with Type 711 industrial grade PVC cement. Working with PVC allows for flexibility in design and construction. Tanks can include acrylic windows, weirs for controlling water height, perforated walls, removable dividers, and customized compartments for incorporating filtration. Our 3-D modeling tools, shop expertise, and machinery give Oceans Design the ability to fabricate your ideas into aquatic environments.
Self Cleaning Tanks
Oceans Design is the sole U.S. manufacturer of commercial self-cleaning tanks for high-density larval culture. Many species of fish larvae require a frequent supply of micro-diet feed to wean them from live feeds to dry diets. The larvae and sinks don't consume most of this feed to the tank bottom, where it will form large bacterial mats if not cleaned regularly. Because many marine species are cultured using green water techniques, it is difficult to see the tank bottom, and during cleaning, many viable larvae are killed in the cleaning process.
